The Specialist, Motor Carrier Support is responsible for assisting field management with the implementation of vehicle safety programs to meet company and government standards. The role involves coordinating and conducting training sessions, visiting field crews for observations and compliance verification, analyzing Motor Carrier Support program needs, and presenting and providing territory visit reports to management.
- Assist field management with effectively implementing new and existing safety programs to ensure alignment with company requirements and regulatory consensus standards.
- Schedule and direct driver safety education sessions to meet compliance and driver qualification needs.
- Conduct ‘Train the Trainer’ safety education sessions.
- Visit field crews for driver training, driver observation, equipment inspection, and verification of program compliance.
- Review territory visits with management prior to leaving, providing an initial report, reviewing necessary corrective actions, and subsequently providing a formal, comprehensive summary report.
- Analyze district and regional motor carrier support program needs with management.
- Assist in the investigation of whistleblower submissions as requested.
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and work rules.
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: Driver’s license. A commercial driver’s license is preferred and may be required, depending on the job requirements.
- Required: Three years of leadership responsibility in a supervisory or foreperson capacity.
- Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer or software programs necessary to complete job duties.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of various vehicles, equipment, and parts.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, Motor Carrier Safety Policy, and Defensive Driving.
- Preferred: Fluency in Spanish is beneficial.
